Update from Administrator – December 26, 2020

Dear Families and Friends,

I hope everyone’s holiday was filled with cheer.  I wanted to send another update to let everyone know we had a few additional COVID positive residents over the holiday.  These were from the same round of testing as the email from the other day.  Everyone else from that round has now come back and is negative.

All families and residents impacted were notified and agreed to do their isolation at our sister facility that has been handling many COVID (+) cases.   All the residents were asymptomatic.

I would like everyone to know that our Director of Nurses has been working since early yesterday afternoon through today coordinating with all of our Unit Managers, Administrative Nurses, and  RIDOH.  It has truly been a team effort even through the holiday.

The staff here continues to work tirelessly no matter the time or day to quickly identify cases and work on plans to mitigate risks of transmission.  We’ve on-boarded quite a bit of new staff over the last 3 months – so I’d like to make sure you know the name and title of each person working behind the scenes that keeps Summit Commons moving 24/7.

Donald Vespia – Director of Nursing

Kim Pono – Assistant Director of Nursing Jodi Green – MDS Director Erin Proulx – Staff Development Alla, Kerry, and Janine – 3rd, 4th, 5th floor Unit Managers Autumn Costa – Admissions Director (liaison for our COVID transfers as well)

As always, if you ever have any questions, comments, or concerns please reach out to me directly.  If I don’t have an answer for you – I will always find it.

Thank you and happy holidays.
